Gervonta Davis' trainer posts astonishing conspiracy theory just before Ryan Garcia fight

Gervonta Davis' trainer Calvin Ford took to Instagram to share a bizarre conspiracy just hours before the Ryan Garcia fight on Saturday.

As is not unusual for big boxing events, things got heated between the camps at the weigh-in and final face-off on Friday.

As Davis and Garcia came nose-to-nose for the last time before their fight, they began to exchange words.

Then, this intense exchange was interrupted by legendary former world champion Bernard Hopkins, who now works as part of Garcia's promoters Golden Boy alongside fellow boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya.

Hopkins walked around to Davis' side of the face-off and put his hand on the boxer, who reacted angrily.

Tank then turned to shout at Hopkins for doing so and the pair briefly argued.

He then focussed back on Garcia and pushed him, causing them to be separated.

Davis raged about Hopkins in his interview immediately afterwards as he said: "Nobody's worried about his old ass, he needs to sit back and let the young'uns do it."

On fight day itself though, it emerged that Davis' trainer Ford was particularly unhappy with the incident.

Ford took to Instagram to share a bizarre conspiracy theory about it.

He posted a screenshot of a message he'd received from an unknown source about the moment, which alleged that Hopkins put his hand on Davis in a deliberate attempt to contaminate him and make him fail a drugs test.

It read: "Coach beware of B Hop and testosterone cream. [It] will make you test dirty, be careful."

Ford captioned the screenshot with the message: "See, this is why Bernard [touched] him."

Hopkins is yet to respond to this astonishing claim, which has been made just hours before the fight.
