Dejan Kulusevski has hit the ground running ever since joining Tottenham Hotspur on loan from Juventus in the January transfer window, but the 21-year-old accepts that his partner, fellow footballer Eldina Ahmic, is the one who will get a lot of the limelight.
The Tottenham midfielder has featured in a Swedish behind-the-scenes documentary called 'Playmakers', which follows five Swedish athletes and their partners.
Ahmic introduced herself in the first episode as herself and Kulusevski went out to walk their dog while they were living in Turin, during Dejan's time at Juventus.
When asked about what the show is like, Kulusevski made clear that he is happy to take a back-seat role.
"It's just something very small. It's not even on television, it's on an app on the internet," he stated.
"The show is actually more about her and what she is doing, and how it is to live in cities like Turin and London. It's not about my football.
"I'm just there, acting a little bit funny maybe, sometimes.
"She was nervous, absolutely. Me less, because I know for some years that everything I do comes out in a way or another.
"You have to be very careful with what you show to people because people cannot wait to bring you down.
"But I think that I am maturing a lot and the more the time goes, the more comfortable I feel in who I am.
"So here I am, I don't care what will happen and what I say ... I just love being myself and keep doing me."
Kulusevski happy at Tottenham
Kulusevski has made 10 appearances so far for Tottenham, in which he has scored two goals and provided four assists, and he is very happy with his start to life in north London.
"I'm very happy that things are going good. I'm getting a lot of playing time," he noted.
"It depends on a lot of things, especially the coach's trust in me and the staff who are helping me a lot and letting me make mistakes and be me and play without pressure.
"Then also the teammates are fantastic, they help me a lot outside the pitch and inside the pitch. I'm really enjoying playing with them.
"When you are good in your mind, you usually play good football. Right now I'm in a happy place.
"I'm very proud to be in this club."
