McDonald's, the largest fast-food chain in the world, is making a major move into the chicken wing business. "Mighty Wings" will be introduced on September 9 in an effort to scoop up market share of one of the fastest-growing sectors of the food industry. Sales of chicken wings topped $8 billion in 2012 alone. The move will put McDonald's into direct competition with chains like KFC, Popeye's, and Church's. The wings, which will come with with nine sauce options including chipotle barbeque, will be available until November. Customers will have the option to buy 3-, 5-, and 10-packs of wings.
